I see the standard s models after 2000 dont have roof bars as standard. Is it just a case of getting hold of some and bolting them on ?

like these :

Also looking for a modular roof rack like a rhino van rack.

I'm thinking get the standard roof bars that run down the sides of the roof, and get something like this:

Then I could drill and bolt them together. space them correctly with washers and used m8 stainless bolts and nylock nuts :clap

Nope, no captive nuts, you just need some "rivnuts" for the job. No need to take the head lining down in theory, but if you're putting them other than std spec then you need to have a spy though. There's loads of strengthners around and sunroof gubbins etc :thumbs

I bolted mine, thinking was they would be stronger than riv nuts.

Also used plenty of tigerseal on everything

Hi, What is the max safe load with those bars
I am thinking 3 or 4 hang gliders at around 40kilo each:eek:
Will the roof/bars take it?

Guy writing the ad seems A bit confused NISSAN TERRANO ii r20 3 DOOR LWB or is there A three door long wheel base :augie

Not that much  You could reinforce the roof easily though and use the lwb version with the middle leg :thumbs
