Have lost the LED? display on my radio. Is there a fix for this other than a new radio. Radio work ok

My radio display slowly disappears as the winters creep on. Does it every year.
On a long journey, when the car gets a good warm up, it starts to reappear. It hibernates like this every winter then restores itself during the warmer weather (nearly said SUMMER but we don't seem to get them nowadays).
Possible solutions; Emmigrate to warmer climate, Put hot water bottle over display every night. Forget about display and use the presets you set up in summer. Buy a new radio
If you find any practical solution I'd be pleased to know.

Think I like the emmigrate solution best. Its been like it for 2 years now and very rarely comes good so I am not too sure what is set up on it!!! lol
