Paid me tenner and i'm back, Any views please, battery went flat this morning, put it on charge, now it wont start!?Is there something I am missing, battery full of life, normally just takes a flick of the key and its away, and has done so for the past 7 years. Could it be the immobiliser? tried locking/unlocking let the alarm reset itself etc or is there something on the diesel pump to reset?Have read somewhere that fuel can flow back and cause an airlock or something like that. should i give it a blast of sniffing gas/ eezy start . any help please cos the other half is wrecking me other car with her wellies and horse stuff. Thanks:thumbs

Why did the battery go flat as it could be the end of it's working life.......Ok yes it will take a charge but still be as much use as a chocolate teapot.
Try and beg -steal another good battery and try that.My Terrano started playing up this way and I thought no end of things was wrong with it till I binned the old battery and put a new one on with good CCA,perfect in the mornings to this day.

Just a thought

Dave

If the little red led flashes wildly when you turn on the ignition then the immob is still active.

Did you charge the battery with leads on or off?

not starting!

Hi,

Had exactly he same thing on mine recently.
I had run the battery flat (radio on all afternoon whilst working outside) tried to start it, not happening, tried to jump start and would not fire.
Turned out to be because I had the bonnet up the imobiliser would not reset, had to hold the alarm pin down (next to rad expansion bottle) by hand whilst a friend locked the car, waited for the imobiliser to set, unlock it again and start it all with my finger holding the bonnet alarm switch down.
Since then been fine:thumb2

Hope this helps,

Cheers

Steve.
