nice!

you tell me why it is that we have all this teckno stuff that even with all the correct keys etc we cannot start our motor but the serious thieves can drive it away in seconds??????????????? Rick

Good point anyone know of a good thief, other than Nissan ?:lol

NOPE!

Any look getting your tarrano going mate?

No luck yet, visit from mechanic yesterday, but he had the wrong connector 16pin mine is 14, he checked all the relays, reprogrammed the fob and confirmed that everything appears to be ok, fuel pressure ect, he thinks it may be the fuel pump immobilizer unit which is bolted to the side of the pump (or it may be part of the pump i don't know), or wiring fault.

coming back today, he appeared very efficient and new what he was doing so fingers crossed:augie

cheers tony

no the immobilizer is a separate unit that sends a code to the ecu that the ecu has in memory if it does not match then no run, but if it locks and unlocks this suggests that it is not an immobilizer fault but another failure,if the mill light flashes what is the code, if it is as you have said before out of normal code then I would be looking for wiring problems between immobilizer and ecu, Rick

Hi mechanic confirmed the immobilizer is on the side of the pump so your right, now looking to reset codes (141 and 142) if possible, then he will most likely check the feeds to immobilizer from the ecu like you suggested, if all ok then it most likely is the immobilizer/injection unit on the side of the pump!

we are getting there! Smack on the nail Solarman, thanks for your help, tony

Good luck sounds like you are getting there, poxy electrics they are a pain in the arse!!

well I have had to bite the bullet and its been taken to Nissan in Exeter, ££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££.

but it may be worth it just to find out the fault!, code 141/142 still showing, will let you know.

There is no immobilizer on the 2.7 TDi IP, it is a completely passive device. ALL of the IMMO electronics are in the vehicle.

The only electrical elements of the (VP37) IP are:
1) positional feedback for the control sleeve.
2) Solenoid to control position of control sleeve
3) Fuel shut off valve
4) Fuel temperature sensor

Truck fixed !!!!!!!!!!!!

Well we are up and running after sending the truck to Nissan. I take it all back about Nissan yes they are dearer than our local garage but are trained and had the knowledge and equipment to end my nightmare!

In the end I had two mobile sparky's, one 4x4 mechanic, rac for 1 1/2 hours, 1 locksmith. and even one out of working hours Nissan mechanic come and look at the truck, the Nissan mechanic came and looked at it for 10 min said he would be back tomorrow, and was never seen again! did not reply to my texts or respond to a request for advice on were to take it if he was not able to do it' he ignored me for over a week.

Took it to JFE in Exeter, 24 hours later phone call to say my truck was ready for collection. £178.00 well spent. upon collection I noticed a familiar face!!!!!! very tempted to drop him in it but that would be nasty,

What was it?

1) week injection relay and locked ecu, all over a flat battery?????

I have to say I got good service from JFE and at a reasonable price; Thanks to everyone here who attempted to help and advise me:clap, I have learnt a lot from this thread.

I can tow my boat now and going fishing on Sunday for the first time in 3 weeks; :thumbs

Nice one, well done :clap

I think £178 is cheap, the last time I took my business van into Renault, it cost me nearly £900

Glad to here you got it sorted mate, it cost me £350 and that was a sparky the came to the garage it was in, so it was half my cost and that was from a dealer :thumbs:thumbs

Yup, luckily for you, it was just one of those that turned out better to take to a main dealer. I see oes from time to time, anyone can change oil n filters ect but sometimes the specialists can turn what could be an 8 hour job into 45 mins..

Seen it at honda, seen it at jag, job done dude :thumb2
