Hi all,

? immobiliser fault

Have you tried a second disconnect after leaving it for 5 mins again. Let all systems start over :nenau

Make sure you keep a window open or something just in case :lol

thanks for help

I will have a go at both suggestions, fingers crossed!!!!!

thanks for your help.:thumb2:thumb2

fault codes

thanks for advice I have done the paperclip jobby and have two faults showing

14 long flashes and 1 quick flash

14 long flashes and two quick flashes.

tried to reset and it will not reset?

what do you think? cheers tony:bow

I had that when the starter motor sized, and it wiped all the memory off the ecu, or that's what the garage that sorted it out told me. Total cost was £400 with the starter motor, think i got ripped of with them. But they said they had to get a specialized sparky in to sort it. That was before i found this club, so will be interesting to see how this thread goes, what i will say though, if you do have to get a sparky to sort it phone a few up and get some quotes, i didn't have that option as they used their someone know.

That's weird as those MIL codes aren't showing in the codes list 14 long and 1 short would be 145 :nenau

I'd suggest leaving the battery off for about an hour and trying again

What year is the truck?

Were about's are you ,If you live near someone who has ECUTalke, they may come over and plug it in to the consult socket for you to read the codes properly and check other relevant info. :thumbs

hi I am in devon, Dawlish, just of m5. had a sparky come out today, could not trace the fault as he had the import programme on his lap top, coming back tomorrow. evidently code 14 is also used for a Immobiliser fault. I will find out more tomorrow!

The only good news is pay day loans have been told to cap their costs! from what I have been told I may need one! LOL.

don't be silly!!!!! If he's told you that it's just scare tactics mate!!!! We'll have you sorted in no time buddy

Bloody hell ive just read all of that.

What a nightmare :eek::eek::eek::eek:

I think the easy option based on that would be to buy all those bits (mentioned in the last post)

You must have a read of this!!

Much better to get a local car locksmith out with the computer software for the T2 cost me £60 after I scrambled my keys, point is they can read all the stuff that Nissan can at a fraction of the cost, Rick

cheers, sparky will be back today so will let him diagnose fault on his lap top, then take it from there, thanks for tip, if it needs just reprogramming i will do what you have suggested:augie

Its starting to look that way, do you know where the ecu is hidden on a 97 2.7 to get the ecu numbers off?

if you leave the battery disconnected for over 24hrs,does that not remove the codes and reset ecu.

Not sure it does, got a feeling someone asked this before and they were told it didn't work because of it being NATS2

from bad to worse!!!

ok sparky came back with R20 software, he still could not get in to the ecu, so did the paperclip job himself, confirmed 14 long and one quick, 14 long and two quick, an additional code has now been added which is 14 long and 5 quick.

He seemed to think the code refers to the mobilizer only, as nissan fault codes only go to 98 or something.

I have taken the ecu out, thought i found a complete kit on ebay but it was a bush and this one has KP on it. i found another one with slightly different numbers on, but the remotes and key were plain black, is this a nats 1 system? and if i replaced it with door and ignition would it work? as my car had nats 2.

thinking of sending the ecu for testing before wasting any more money, any one recommend a reliable ecu tester that wont rip me off and knows his job?:doh

You need to find someone with " Nissan Consult" which is the diagnostics for the older models. I personally think get that connected to the car with both keys and youll get this sorted. As Rick suggested get a mobile locksmith out and he will have a good chance of sorting it for you.
