Hi all I've just joined in the hope that someone can help!
I have a 1997 Terrano 2.7 diesel and it won't start. It has been narrowed down to the immobiliser system. I have done a bit of digging on the net and it seems that it's not uncommon for the system to play up but being the NATS2, it is not an easy fix unless I replace the entire system from the ecu to the key and everything inbetween.
What I would like to know is if it is possible somehow to bypass the system or to replace the ecu with an after market non-NATS one so there would be no immobiliser at all? Or is it possible to fiddle with the existing ecu to bypass the immobiliser?
I'm not bothered by not having an immobiliser, I'd rather have a vehicle that I know is going to start!
Any one help or point me in the direction of someone who can fix the thing?
