hey peeps

I am selling my Terrano! No reason other than I fancy a change. I will be listing photos asap, but I wanted to get a few things down to hopefully generate interest.

so, its a blue Terrano 2, 03 plate on approx. 110k miles.
it has a dent in the nearside rear door
it has a slight dent in the rear door behind the tyre
Back bumper is untidy form I assume, driving into things ~(was like this when I bought it) crack to nearside indicator, never failed MOT on it.
the odd dent/scratch around the car - this is a work horse and has been treated as such, though it has never been off road, and hasn't towed.

Its had a new front windscreen a few years ago, usual crack from a flying pebble
new starter motor
new battery 3 years ago - decent brand and big
K&N air filter
various parts over the years as you would expect - though a work horse I do what is required so that it is reliable.
its got nice rubber mats all round, a rear boot load cover and boot liner
its got good tyres all round, I think 60/40 offroad/road tyres - these are remoulds Kingpin branded - I find they suit the vehicle well.
Had a new front exhaust a year ago, new back box prior to that everything else is fine in that dept.
Ive blanked the clutch damper pipe, no issues there.
ive cleared out the sills of crap, though surface rust is now present on the back in the usual spot, every where else is fine, MOT was fine last year.
No rust on the wings, can see inside, looks good and dry.

only things I am aware of that are worth noting, are it needs new glow plugs and the 4wd transfer box, when engaged works, but if you then turn the steering it clicks, like a bad CV. Garage did the drivers CV, no change, but the passenger CV hasn't been looked at. The garage thinks its the box, but quoted £120 to fix including the part (used form a scrappers) so no big deal there - it works, just clicks on more than a 1/2 turn.

I will put up MOT info tonight, along with photos and I will do a walk around video as I think that will highlight the exterior condition better than photos.

Its been super reliable, its my daily driver despite my other cars being far more economical. Apart from the body work its a good motor.

so, its not pretty I admit, but I am pricing with this in mind and I think its a fair price. looking for £1100 please!

as I say, more info tonight, will list the last MOT info, latest bills, photos and video to give you a good idea of what is what

cheers

Not sure I like the bungee strap holding the battery in ;)

Ha ha its got a bracket low down, bungie is for extra support.

ok, finally got round to some info:
MOT 9th September 2016
last MOT done at RnR Autosport Huddersfield at a cost of £607 - that was for the MOT, upper and lower ball joint Offside, CV joint kit off side, brake hose rear, brake pipe and fittings rear axel, front ns shocker, xfer box fluid, welding to inner chassis and anti roll bar link mounting. no advisories.

back in 2013 it had a nice big Bosch s4 battery and a starter motor
K&N air filter around the same time
New windscreen around the same time
new remould kingpin tyres when I got it the same year and they have plenty of tread left
Fitted new front exhaust, and rear exhaust, middle is fine.
Had serving of all fluids in the last two year, doesn't get driven that much, less than 5k a year.
Got some nice COB LEDs for the interior that light the cab up bright, fitted an extra rear roof light also in the gap where one would go as an option (above the boot area).
I've repaired the famous rear door leak, but there is surface rust in the usual spots around the offside light and just below the rear door frame.
Had a refurb front prop shaft fitted, along with the front off side CV this was part of diagnosis of a noise when 4wd is engaged. Engage 4wd, drive along and its fine, turn more than 1/4 turn and it clicks, like a dodgy CV. Haven't done the passenger side CV because RnR garage think its the xfer box, and quotes £120 all in, I just never got it done because it has worked fine in the tiny amount of time I've needed it to.

Ive blanked off and cut out the clutch damper pipe and changed the fluids, so all good there, that was about 2 years ago. The fuel pipes are now all rubber apart from the engine bay.
Its had a new thermostat and metal housing to replace the plastic one, which of course cracked. Its had a new water pump fitted, and did have new glow plugs last year which now need replacing - that's what you get for using cheap ones :/

Its got two keys though the original is very worn -I had a new one cut and purchased a new fob for the central locking. The alarm is there, but disconnected because when I got it, the original fob wasn't working, so the previous owner must have disconnected it for that reason (alarm goes off when unlocking via the door lock, because the fob didn't turn off the alarm I guess).

its got a lot of scratches and little dents, bits of rust here and there as you would expect from these cars but as far as I can see the usual areas of worry are good and solid, front wings are solid - I removed all the moulding years ago, cleaned everything up and resprayed the mouldings.

The rear bumper is messy - clearly its been reversed into a wall too many times - the previous owner was at least 65, because I found a "65" keyring under the carpet.....!

front bumper is a bit better - I fitted new clips to the mountings for the bumper and treated that frame and front chassis while I was at it.

The nearside rear door is the main cosmetic issue - big dent on that and the arch which has been filled/painted to make it look pretty, other than that the arch is ok.

all the seats are in good condition though I wont lie the interior needs a quick valet.

I've fitted a pioneer car stereo which is Bluetooth and has a microphone attached all ready to go, also a USB adapter is fitted to the console by the handbrake for your music. I have also fitted a USB port in the light switch box in the roof (in the photo you can see my car DVR connected - stole that idea form a club member as its a brilliant idea, kudos to him for this one). Its tidied up with Sugru so looks presentable.

I've replaced the diesel leak off pipes recently, and I also fitted a used I/C from MakeItfit as my old one had a pin hole in it. Ive done the belts too when I did the water pump.

It has got air con, though it doesn't work. I have never tried to fix it - I guess at the very least it needs gas, but frankly its never been hot enough for me to warrant using it as when it is hot, I drive my other car that does have working air con!

there isn't really much else to say, other than the stuff listed, that's all ive had to do since owning it which isn't bad really. Its been very reliable and despite it being the least economical, least comfortable and most expensive car out of my little fleet, its my daily driver.

I love these cars, but I want a change. Had two now, but fancy something a little less rugged.

any questions/offers, please contact me. I'm not looking for a lot of money, and ive taken into account the various body work niggles and I think my asking price is fair, especially when you take a glance on eBay at "equivalent" Terranos.

Hope you got what you wanted for it Clivvy.

So what know, what motor is going to adopt you?

not really mate, but I am happy enough. End of the day these aren't easy cars to sell, and the body work lets it down (though it isn't bad in terms of rust, just work related denting!)

I will be sealing the deal over the next few weeks, its a relaxed sale between me and one of the drivers at our spot.

I am now on the look out for a Mitsi Shogun Sport..

is your phone working, Jim??

gotcha, will do mate. Let me know if you want to borrow a spare phone, ive a few lying about you can borrow if it helps.

Cheers Clivvy, it's at the back of the queue for spending money on so it'll just have to manage and if it finally dies then so be it.

So how long before your truck goes to its new home?

not sure, I need to speak to the chap properly, sounds like maybe a few weeks, he was talking about paying me but leaving it on my drive until he has sorted his other car, or leaving a deposit etc so I think a couple of weeks perhaps!
