Hi, My mate has SWB T reg Terrano2 which seems to have a clutch problem.

Sometimes when you let the clutch out it seems to 'jump' in to gear and makes a 'clunk' noise. it seems to happen if you hold in the clutch for a second or two.

He took it Nissan and the usuall story, they say it needs a new clutch and quoted £675.

Can anyone help? a quick fix or anything?

Thanks, Thomas.

is it clutch master or slave failing letting clutch engage? or is it more of a play in drivetrain thing "taking up slack" kindve thing?

A reputable independent garage should be able to replace a clutch for about £300, using quality pattern parts.

As my engine is out at the moment I got the mechanic to hev a look at clutch just in case it needed to be replaced (thankfully it's OK) and I got it priced up a genuine Nissan clutch is £125.00 other motor factors wanted from £138.00 to £190.00 so always check the Main Dealer

when did transit clutch i rang ford then local motor factor ford were £1 dearer ! bought genuine !
