From 25th May 2007 for motor vehicles categorised as M1 (a passenger carrying vehicle not exceeding 3.5 tonnes and not more than 8 passengers) or N1 (a goods vehicle not exceeding 3.5 tonnes) it will only be legal to manufacturer and sell bull bars that comply with EU Directive 2005/66/EC.

It will be illegal to manufacture and sell bull bars that do not conform to this legislation punishable by a maximum penalty, to be imposed within the UK, of 12 months imprisonment and/or a fine of £20,000.

Operators of vehicles already fitted with these devices will not be affected

because after may 25th 2007 it was illegal to have them fitted, the terry is fine by all accounts,as ive never seen a 58 plate one!

Load of bull?
Is it true that ‘bull bars’ on 4x4s were made illegal because they can cause serious injuries in an accident?

Fitting bull bars that don’t conform to strict a EU directive has been illegal since May 25 last year. Vehicles fitted with bars before this date are not affected. The directive insists on a minimum level of protection for pedestrians and that the bars are type-approved for the cars they’re intended to fit. Steel bull bars don’t meet these standards and are therefore effectively illegal.

what kind of dick head is going to say they put it on yesterday to the plod??
i am going to stick one on mine, i bet you've sold one or two?
