Terrano broke down!!!

Right, so me n the missus have been doing some laning. Water bumper high on an occasion. Continued laning for ages, left and joined the m4

Cruising about 80-90.... Kph obviously :augie

Incredibly heavy rain whilst driving, all of a sudden terrano started to drop power. Pulled in to hard shoulder foot flat to floor, no juddering or anything just revs dropping ect.. :nenau

When w came to a stop the engine was idling sweet as a nut, put accelerator to floor and it would immediately climb to 1750rpm (again firing on all 4)

So we called rac (And rick :lol)

Just before the rac man arrived we turned her back on to check and hey presto she was revving freely again.

Much earlier in the day the only thing we had done was put some injector cleaner in, and had some heavy rain on the m4 :nenau

I did check any pipes I could see as did the rac dude.

He also plugged in and no codes are present (also no engine light on during whole process)

We drove home and all is fine :clap :doh

Had the same symptoms once on my Mav but while it was stationary. No EML showing.

I agree, but could it also be a slightly dodgy earth perhaps? the earth for the pedal is one of the two small wires on the block by the dip stick...

Mine always seems to be very juddery in heavy rain, jump out turn my snorkel head round and all is well lol

I know this doesn't help you but thought I'd point this out

after watching the ford vid alex you hit that water a bit fast some of the water could have gone in the air intake and made the maf wet, could be wrong its just a thought

on phone you did not say you had been through water quite likely you soaked the paper air filter, the mist that it would then make would do what you say and no light, leaving it off in the hot/warm engine bay most likely evaporated or drained the water, Rick

The water wade was a good hour before the m4 journey, that's why I didn't mention

the two times mine has done what you describe, it was the flexible pipes to the intercooler.... I had forgotten to do the jubilee clips up properly. Ironically, it ran for a few days before it decided to get me.

The inter cooler is only held on by two short stubby hoses right?

2 hoses and 4 bolts

as he says, 4 bolts physically hold it in place, and 2 stocky hoses connect it to the manifold and turbo.

Nissan fit some awful wire pipe clips, which seem to allow the pipe to leak sometimes, so I changed mine for the proper Jubilee clips x 4.

Hmm, well these were the ones rick suggest i check today, I had a look and all seems solid, couldn't check for leaks though. May check when I fire her up tomorrow from cold. I should expect a blowing right?

After looking at that video i would have to agree with steve on that one with you going through the water before hand.I had something like that happen to me when i cleaned my induction filter out.I didnt let it dry properly and a bit of oil got on the maf.I was lucky was i was able to wipe it off with a cotton bud and let it dry for a bit and it ran fine after and has done since
