Hi folks. Total 4X4 novice here so go easy on me. Bought my first fourby last week - 98R Terrano SE Touring. It seems in very good nick apart from the odd little ding and scratch here and there, drives nicely etc. I'm not too fussed about off roading in it but I want to give it a service before I start using it properly next week. I'm sure I saw in another thread on here that someone recommended City Road Garage in Sheffield? If not them, can anyone recommend any other 4X4 mechanics in Sheffield? Thanks in advance.

I know I'm not fully paid up yet but that will come next week after payday. I fear I'll be needing to ask a lot of questions during the coming months.. Cheers.

Welcome, sure you will find plenty of help and good advice here. No doubt someone will direct you to a good garage.

you dont have to be to mecanhic minded to do it your self , it was all really straight forward ,apart from when i took the oil filter off some of the oil left at the filter poured out as didnt have a small enough container to fit in there but it wasnt a bit deal and what a difference a full service made to our t2 ,good luck

Hi and welcome, where u get truck from.

Thanks. I bought it locally out of Autotrader. Typical, spent all morning and early part of afternoon washing and polishing the damn thing and now it's rained all over it... :doh

Here it is just before the rains came.

nice looking truck.
mine used to shine when i first got it but its suffered a few battle scars over the past year:lol
comes with the hobby if you go off road.

Thanks for the kind welcomes. I'd love to do a DIY service but wouldn't know where to start really , although I'm well up for learning if anyone has any advice. Grew up driving company cars you see... owt goes wrong, book it in - no expense to me so no need to get me own hands mucky. Now I'm in the real world of self financed motors, I'm trying to pick up bits of knowledge here and there as I go along. Luckily my next door neighbour knows a lot about cars and fourbys so I try and pick bits up from him.

eyup and welcome!

I am going to DIY service mine too shortly. Never done it before myself except part service on my MX6, so looking forward to doing iton th etruck, which should be very easy-all that space to work with. the only htings I am unsure about are fuel filter (havent even checked-diesel engine, no idea if there is a fuel filter, i assume so lol!) the rest I am happy to do. I suspect you will get loads of advice here plus i have a full work shop manual on cd rom and mostly printed if you get stuck....

just ask, some one will tell you where to go..

i get a service kit from ebay.
