Being new to Nissans (always been a Vauxhall man 'till now eg: Frontera) I
am in need of urgent advice re: checking the oil level in the auto box, I've only owned it 6 weeks & I haven't got a drivers manual, the CD's available don't appear to actualy deal with this (but claim they do!).
I assume it's done hot with the engine running but I'm not at all sure how to read the dipstick. On mine there is a cross-hatched area with a notch either side: presumably this is the area where the level should be? It's actually about 10mm above this, so is it overfilled? There appears to be some evidence of small air bubbles on the dip stick so it's not looking good. The fluid colour looks OK though.
I need to correct this before I do any serious towing, but if it's overfull how do I reduce it: Small tube down the dipstick hole, disconnect from the bottom of the radiator or use the drain plug (if there is one)?
Please Help.........!
