Terrano 3.0

Well just got back from verry wet and windy Cornwall.
Towed for 600 mls with 1500 klgms on back and I must admit these tugs are the best thing since sliced bread. It steamed along so well I forgot I was towing went over 70 a few times till mrs told me (YOUR GOIN TO FAST)
22 tut gallon cant be bad.
What say you guys.

Well, having only done just over 100 miles towing my Avante of a similar weight to yours with my newly acquired 3.0 T2, I have to say I too, was quite impressed!
The outfit felt a lot more stable at 60 than it does when towing it with my Allroad, but I'm putting that down to the Terrano being taller than the Audi.

I suppose the true test will be in a few weeks time when we go on our main summer holiday to NW Wales, travelling from Aberdeen.

hi ,,iv a 3.0di two and towing with it is a joy to say the least ,
yes you can forget u av a caravan on some times :augie iv a 26 ft + it weights in at 1750kg and pulls for fun but keep it around 55/6 mph and gives me around 25mpg also has a roof box fitted to the terrano which blows the wind over the top of the van so less drag :thumb2

i just towed my bailey twin axle fully loaded plus bikes on top from st ives
to bolton 363 miles 80 ltr tank full cost £84 to fill up at 50/60 works out at just under 21 to gal but gonna have it remapped this week end
for a bit more performance possibly more mpg

Hello Gasman.
What do you expect from a re-map in terms of performance/mpg.?
I have a 3.0 ltr auto that I am very pleased with in most respects ,and I achieve around 21/22mpg towing everthing but kitchen sink. General use gives an mpg that ranges between 25,and 28,long runs can be up to 33mpg. Would like a little more economy though,if costs are reasonable versus long term saving.
