My V reg Terrano 2 has developed a leak at No1 injector- we have had problems in the past with mice chewing the by pass pipes and initially thought that all I had to do was replace a pipe!!
Anyway nothing so simple. When I started the engine from cold there wasn't a leak but as the engine warmed up I discovered a leak at the injector-as the load increases so does the volume of fuel leaking out.
Would appreciate any advice on this please-never had to remove an injector so not sure what to expect ie what is causing the leak and best practise in removing injector etc!!

Sounds like leak off pipe to me, remember No 1 has two leak off pipes one from the other injectors and another going down to the pump return, if it was the high pressure injector pipe it would leak straight away, it runs at 2000 psi, Rick

Hi Rick-thanks for the advice!
Must be No 4 (nearest the bulkhead) as there is only one pipe and one sealed off. The leak seems to be from the injector itself as the leak is below the pipes- as it doesn't start leaking until the engine warms up I am wondering if it is the injector seals??

It will be a leak off pipe or the blanking cap, Rick

Hi Rick, just been out to it again-the leak is from the seam just above the larger hex(so between the main body of the injector and the hex where the run off pipes are).
