lots on here about remote locking failing to work ....

... mine LOCKS fine (and all doors shut & locked) ...

but a few times now I've gone to it the following day & it's UNLOCKED ????

The first few times you think you've accidentally caught the key fob ???

...but it seems to be more frequent ???

Doors all shut OK (ie limit switches closed)
Key fob activates locks >>> everything LOCKS OK
... pause ... wait ... hang around ... >>> all OK
... tomorrow she's UNLOCKED !!!

I know its a radio signal & can be corrupted ............

ANY OTHER IDEAS ????? :nenau :nenau :nenau :nenau

yeah something to do with the back door iirc do a search . one of the older members will remember this issue , its not come up for a while

easy fix too , just cant remember what it was

mine locks fine on the fob stays locked overnight, but when i use fob to unlock again i hear a click sound from drivers rear door thats it:confused:all the doors stay locked, i have to manuel unlock by key then unlock each door once inside done this for 6mths now but love to know why it gets a signal to lock but wont reverse :bow

Yeah, mine is odd too. when all doors are locked, drivers door will unlock from keyfob, have to manually unlock other doors. When pressing the lock button on the fob, drivers door locks but everything else stays unlocked :doh

If I now unlock the car from keyfob (or manually use key in the drivers door), all other doors lock themselves!

I've settled to the routine of pressing lock, unlock, lock to sequence through the permutations to get all of the car locked.

Still to take the drivers door apart to get at the connections/relays as from what I know that's the source of my issue.

Sorry Toska, not much help to you!

think NATS gets confused if using mixture of fob and key in door lock.

if fob fails you lock the doors with the door lock button on the drivers
door, then shut door. can the open with key, alarm might fire first
few times then realises not to bother. however if then use the key
to lock the door(s) in drivers door, all hell will break loose again.
as nats is re-awakened some how.

if alarm fires then put key in ignition, and if need be turn to stage 2,
the chip in the key will then clear the alarm / imobliser.

Thanks for replies (all of them !! )

I always lock & unlock mine on the remote, (I'm not sure if the immobiliser is fully armed if you use the key lock ??? >>> must read the book !!! )

I only use the key lock when I remember that if I don't rotate the lock barrel, then the thing will probably sieze up ( WD40 plus a few key moves )

??? COULD THE UNLOCKING BE LOW VEHICLE BATTERY VOLTAGE ???

The terrano's not used much at mo ... only multiple short journeys ... hence no chance for battery replenishment ... sometimes, after about 2-3 weeks I have to give her a charge / or use her to go to work

(battery is fine, just usage which depletes)

I'm wondering if the problemo is increasing with these low battery spells

.... or if I'm just going mad, and making such things up inside my head !!!

CAN low battery cause locks to unlock ???

been thinking about this for a day or two !
and im sure its a problem conected to the interior light button on the back door usually . but it could i guess be any of the door buttons .
inspect them , i think that confuses the nats
