Couple of weeks ago, they were saying were in for months of bad wet weather, now we have a heat wave and it's going to last for many weeks.

Towards the middle part of next week things may settle down again temporarily and we will see temperatures possibly rising to 30c across Southern and Eastern areas as we draw up a feed of air from the South. Unfortunately at the moment this is not expected to last very long with areas of low pressure still very close to the UK. Here is a chart showing temperatures for next Thursday..

Is there a heatwave on the way? Is the question everyone is asking after some of the front page headlines most recently.

Early indications show there is not a heatwave on the way but summer is coming back! We see a rather unsettled weekend to come with strengthening winds and longer spells of rain which will be persistent at times especially during Saturday and particularly across Western parts of the UK although rain will become more showery in nature during Sunday. However the change comes next week......

We will see high pressure build from the South during the start of the new working week bringing more in the way of settled weather initially across Wales, southern and eastern parts of England.

Northern Ireland, North West England and Scotland will remain rather unsettled at times during the first part of the week before we see the high pressure across the south build further North.
