anyone interested in the first team wales mini meet

the date i have so far is sunday 25/01/09 i thought it would be good to have a meet up. possibly do some tracks at banwen (weather permitting) then do the sarn helen track...
the bit that is not gated. ("responsible see")

then if anyone is up for it on the return trip we could do the section that is gated .( irresponsible"" )

i did banwen and both sections of sarn helen last night from coelbren to brecon and it was a nice run albeit bloody cold.

for those that dont fancy off roading but still want to come along and meet up during the day for lunch - snacks and refreshments . i will look into this further . before the date

Alright extreme what time and where do we meet?
I've just put my +2" springs on and cranked the front right up
Insa turbo's back on and hope to have the CB wired up in a bit:thumbs

we are one truck down already hydrolocked a fronty today ....now thats funny. (as it was not mine)

well i spoke to the landy people earlier, and told them we'd only go with them if its not just boring laning
dont know about you i cant bare the follow like sheep thing

still waiting to hear where they are going. but they leave here at 12 noon

if not

2 oclock is good, then we can do some naughty :slytracks then go up sarn later

well you will all be pleased to know.... team wales me and makeitfit (pete)dug our way off a mountain today. but got home safely

we was having a bloody good time, till i suggested its time to go home at about 5.30.
but as we was lost up a mountain we could only follow our guide in a big monster landy, who instantly took us down this part dry river/ bog . we ended up digging our way out... landy's too im sure he thought well try this before we go , cos he was quite impressed with the mav's and t2

just got back to my house for a coffee and warm at 11pm

pete seemed to be having fun and and although i kept asking if he was ok and happy . i couldnt help thingking maybe we should have just done some easier stuff and then gone for a couple of drinks.
you know what its like the first time you meet someone, you get them stuck up a mountain for hours, its not the best first impression ay


especially as the big land who got stuck himself 3-4 times on this one stretch refused to winch or pull us out at all. so it was a lot of digging for hours.
funny our guide his brother back of us and he was like a best friend he pulled the daughter's t2 and a 51 plate disco down all in one go but the bloke in the disco was crying all the way down to stop its wrecking his truck but all we heard on the c.b was its coming down now or its staying here:doh

all in all it was a good meet, a good laugh , and although we had to dig our way out , i suppose it was good to build friendships cos if you do get stuck you will be glad you had a makeitfit pete with you.and he is not shy of some fun stuff either

will do some pics of the trucks tomorrow im tired and hurt all over might need to assess damage before i go to work as i did a tiny bit of tree climbing

only 3 pics came out for me, so here goes me and pete did the hill decent too but obvoiusly no time for pics as holding on for dear life.

if you put a protractor on it go off the road as it was level. i was rushing to get a snap

the hill was about 100 metres

we didnt try up as the landy struggled going up with diff lockers on
the landy was howard the nice landy owner with lots of pull


i made it about 50 degrees but ask makeitfit pete if he' do any steeper . cos thats enough for me
