Warning!!!

Adz (et al)

Serious warning here about this weekend. You should not think about doing Strata Florida.

My wife has just called to say after torrential rain, which is ongoing, the River Towy (which runs through our land) is the highest she's ever seen it...that means the river has risen at least four metres, possibly more, and so Llyn Briane is full and the slipway is running, that in turn means the rivers that feed it, several of which go across the Strata route and have to be forded, will be in full spate.

The last time it was like this (in fact the Towy was lower at that time), this happened on Strata....

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/w...irl-dies-as-wales-is-hit-hard-91466-21694620/

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2008/09/07/six-people-dead-in-uk-floods-115875-20727739/

So my sincere advice is to stay away on this occasion....the route itself will also be much more flooded than usual, but its the river crossings that will be the problem, and theres no way around them.

Stay safe mate! :thumbs

yes i agree

keep away from strata this weekend

its not worth someone getting hurt

aspecially as pete could hurt himself on a sunny day without any help from nature:D:bow:bow:bow

how was the wine pete ?

Ay cheers for that, I've binned that leg of the trip already ta.
We were flooded last night a bit and I live on a hill:augie
Just waiting for the powers that be to pull their b***dy finger out and decide what roads are actualy open or not!
Definative map my backside:eek:

OI
That 'orrible disco had to be pushed across two counties the last time he came out to play. The last two times he tried he broke his transfer box on the beach and er "bent" his steering on a little ticky wee tree:doh
Thunderbird 2 is indeed all tooled up (NOT WHY HE'S INVITED AT ALL):augie
and knows all the farmers so good for those er mistakes with mapping:lol

Stay online please "makeitfit" :thumbs
I've just got in :doh
All 4 shocks are on :clap
Boots full with camping stuff & tools :sly
Empty trailer is on :D

But...

Do i still come down  :nenau

Update

Quick update, we're back mainly unscathed:augie
This morning 4 Team Wales trucks made a start round the lanes and unclassifieds round Brechfa:thumbs
Absolutely brill, the rain had stopped but there was plenty lying around in the rutts. Plenty of mud too:D
Due to a er Sat Nav malfunction, Adz missed the turning for Brechfa and only realised his error when he noticed the sea in front of him:augie
So the poor sod had to do another 40 odd miles back to where we were having it large:eek:
He picked up Extreme who had to gate bitch for the day:lol
They missed the early tracks ,one of which was an absolute corker. Disco, Wrangler, me Mav and Thunderbird 2 had our work cut out on megga tight hairpins and deep gorges and LOW trees. TB2 took a few out
Disco got stuck on the hairpins and the jeep bottomed out on the long climb in the mud.:augie
After a few more little tracks we made contact with team Adz/Extreme and went off for part 2:thumbs
We then had to cut down trees and winch stumps and swot a million flies:p
Then to the pub in the middle of nowhere for a planning meet:naughty
Afternoon saw some more miles in the ruff before a team split due to various horse duties and "her indoors" calls:(
So the evening run was TB2 Adz and me Mav off round Brecon for some "gap" action:thumb2
Stunning views at dusk before the final push back to Extreme's gaff and coffee:clap
More tomorrow and maybe a pic or two for Zippy:doh
