Yep, that is enough! :clap

I don't understand much about turbos, but does your new turbo has variable geometry?
Did you choose a smaller turbo, better torque at low rpm or a big turbo, huge power on the high rpm?

:thumbs

The turbo is based on a TD05, you could get one from Evo 3's I believe or wrx's.
No its not variable vane.

I chose that size of turbo because I wanted as little lag as possible when off road in low range, and I got that bang on the money.:cool:

After the weekend past, 4hrs up hill, in 2nd gear, low range, the EGT where safe (350c max) the response was beautiful, all the power you'd ever need, delivered between the factory 1600-2900 rpm range - I couldn't be happier.

However I over sized the intercooler (rightly or wrongly) because I wanted to give myself a margin for error on the intake side, now keep in mind we are untuned at present and simply bolted all this gear on and the factory wastegate pressure is what's limiting my boost - currently 15psi.

They guys who supplied the turbo, the 12mm pump and matching injectors advised me that their set up should (assuming healthy engine) be run between 20-24 psi, its maxed out at 30psi. Their dyno sheets show roughly 200hp and almost 600nm with their settings.

Its a boost compensated pump - combo of a td42 and td27 pumps, so the more boost we put in via the controller the pump delivers the fuel to match.

The pump has been sent to me "super safe" mode, so I have no black smoke at all from the exhaust, which I quite like.

Honestly, I don't see a need to run more than the 15psi, the things hauls ass, I can sit in 5th and comfortably overtake on the motorway, 3rd gear feels like my face is gonna come off too. It's mental:eek:

Now, i can play with the boost controller some more, set the "gain" which sets how quickly the turbo gets to full boost and this means i start to build boost at 1200 rpm and by 2000rpm its around 10psi in 3rd gear, 2900 rpm and we are at 15psi and its time to shift to 4th, go through the same in 4th and we are way past the 100km speed limit. 5th is cruising gear.

I will detail the controller in a few posts time.

Sorry, couldn't stop typing.....
