I've noticed my Maverick has started to become very tappety recently

Is there anything I can do about this?

easy to adjust TDC on piston undo lock nut screw adjuster down till just hits valve, back quarter turn lock off, do not use feelers as most that I have seen have indentations in rocker making feelers useless, Rick

how do you mean tappety?

Ricks got it, that chatter you get from your engine, I used feelers on my old Fiesta and made it way way worse

Is it a big job? I presume Intercooler off, rocker cover off and then you're there right?

Most likely its the cooler weather meaning the gaps are larger but should return to normal after engine has warmed up.

Are you using a winter grade oil or the right multi-grade?
This also helps in getting oil up into the top of the engine.

I would not worry too much unless its the same in the summer !
