Run the fuel v low, added 40l of veggi n 3.8l of petrol  runs smother than a veggie diesel mix :nenau

word of warning, petrol kills lubrication, I have no figures for ratio but fuel pumps and injectors are not cheap, Rick

i use a shot of 2 stroke oil every now and then (the red stuff, low ash) as an extra lube. i dont use petrol, i would rather use more derv but i know people swear by using it with out issues.

I have read 1 part to 300 for 2 stroke,
ie 100 ml to 30 litres

in my old cough splutter..vectra tdi it actually changed the sound of the engine, much smoother but it takes 30 to 50 miles to kick in.just cheap stuff from morrisons but dont buy the green as it has a tendency to soot up, cheaper than redex and the veg oil will clean the system out :D

Ive not taken the plunge on veg oil yet.
seems to many problems of clogging filters etc up.
low temperatures and stuff, adding petrol which is bad.
although I am thinking of getting a couple of jerrycans on me roof and filling em with just veg oil:D
a lot less people would be inclined to try nick em with a big veg oil only sticker down the side.
unless they eat millions of chips:lol

Reminds me of Dad's army, when they had Jones's van converted to gas, with the huge bag of low pressure gas on the roof.:lol:lol

Joking apart, I bet you are doing great fuel economy, if you look at miles per £ instead of MPG.

I suggest giving it a go, I was really nervous, and given the amount i have just put up for my new terrano on finance i was a bit worried, the veg oil runs sweet as a nut, the only thing i am going to change is mabye put a splash of 2 stroke in with my mix to lube, a diesel veg mix is too thick, you can hear the difference.

From a long discussion with someone who spent years making biodiesel and using veg, the bio blocks up your filters as it picks up the crud from the tank, the veg does not. Either way i bought a 6 quid filter... No problems so far, 3 full tanks down and still running sweet, no coughing no running issues and no power loss, 79p a litre :clap

Give it a go, you wont ever go back :D

I ran my Patrol on veggie last year. Started with a 50/50 mix of veg/diesel and worked upto 100% veggie in the summer. She ran great until the pump developed a bad leak:(. (you could have cooked a full fry up on our driveway).
I had the tank drained to almost empty threw in some diesel to find leak(diesel thinner than oil so should *:ss out) and the bloody leak stopped and never leaked since :doh:nenau

on my last vehicle to run on veg i religiously changed the fuel filter because of what i had read on line etc, with my terry i have done over 20k in 12months and not changed the filter without issue, okay, so i am only running 80/90% in warmer months, 50/50 now, but its a huge saving overall, truck runs quieter and smells good! agreed on petrol addition, not for me but others do it.

Too much pressure from straight veg oil? As it's very thick?

Since changing from diesel veg mix to pure veg with petrol i can hear the engine running easier (thinner fuel)

Funnily enough that had crossed my mind and I have given thought to running her on veg again but as a mix. Yet to try mixing with petrol

After taking advise, i used 40 litres of veg and just under 4 litres of petrol, with a good shake.
