Hello all,
Just a quick question the tacho/rev counter on my sons t2 has packed up its a 52 plate anyone got any ideas on how to fix, can it be fixed????

likely the electronic one on that vintage...better kiss it goodbye unless you can live without the tacho.......at least til the speedo goes as well....:(

nicely avoided me being the bringer of bad news, making note not to buy too new
himself.
 
I wonder if the older style clocks could be fitted instead:rolleyes: a few of my M8's fitted the digi dash clocks from astra GTE's into their nova's
 
all things are possible Sweety, you can only take the dash off and look....but these later digital ones have a reputation for failing, mines been replaced at 57k, luckily all documented and dealer stamped.

Ok fellas guess it will have to wait until the speedo dies cheers anyway john.......
 
Usually a resolder of all the joints on the PCB (taking 20mins- if you are able with a soldering iron) will effect a complete cure.

I haven't tried taking the dash apart on a facelift model with the 'digidash' but if its anything like the previous analog dash it comes apart very easily, just a few screws and you can lift the cover of and get the whole unit out easily...suspect the later one might have a few more connecting wires though.....go on, have a bash, you can only break it!...oh, you already did didn't you...:eek:

did as you said took it to bits quite easy a few screws and it was off had a twidle with a few wires and guess wot it blummin works........
