what do they weigh? i always thought they were a bit small?

Yeti 4x4 variant weighs just over 1500 kg, with a towing capacity of 2000 kg

Not bad really:thumbs

Most parts running gear etc based on Mk 5 Golf and transmission from other cars in the VAG group. So pretty well "tough as old boot", as VW used to say about the original Golf.

ah, as apposed to the anorak i always thought they were quite small, that said my old vectra weighed in at around 1500. depends on the depreciation a bit too, whereas the price of skodas sank like stones they really are holding money nowdays.

Patrol or 'Cruiser , proper bit of kit and world rated :thumb2
New 4x4s tend to be a bit more all terrain than offroad biased and in that form they're bloody good. BUT I just can't help falling for the old skool heritage of the Trol and 'Cruiser :naughty

Yeah I was thinking of this motor too.

Also like it's ugly little brother the Roomster for a practical motor.

Wife wants an old defender, she doesn't do much mileage so fuel wont be a problem. Loved the Terrano to bits but they've had their day really in a lot of ways. Never done a lot of green laning so we really don't need anything that capable really and as said the cost of road tax is stupid.

I tow some pretty heavy stuff so a yeti wouldn't do the job, and I drive off road most days. I have never been a fan of crew cabs (and I never buy german cars on principle) I have considered a Hyundai Terracan they seem a lot of car for the money. You need a mortgage for a decent land cruiser and the 3.0 patrol has put me off them for life.

Got a link to the disco faults ?

soz no it was a "heard it on the grape vine" thing from a mate thats been working in the lr factory, I know the new rangie with fold down automatic/electronic steps is one cos you can't drive with steps down & guess what that does :lol

I may look at the Nissan Pathfinder or the Volvo XC90, defo won't be paying £400 + a year for tax though...total piss take:(

Maybe one of the last terranos, or a pathfinder, might be persuade by to a troll if sure
new enough not to have engine issues.

Need a 7 seater, might even go Transit Torneo and loose the 4wd unless fall on a county
conversion. Would lke more seats and boot, perhaps 2wd transit with anaftermarket
LSD or locker could give virtual 4wd for caravan on slippy sites.

A shogun, or LR D3.

Buy a van and convert it into a motorhome like I'm intending on doing:D
