One of my middle seats won't flip. It will fold, but when I try to flip it against the front seats the lever doesn't work, feels like it isn't connected to something. Is it a broken cable?
I've poked about at it, but it looks like a job that could lose me a finger or two.

Hi alchams.
The seat base is secured by a spring loaded jaw type clamp under the centre rear of the base squab. The release is by cable from the side lever. Each end of this cable can be accessed by removing the plastic panels near the handle and the clamping jaw. If the seat is currently stuck down in the normal seating position, try removing the side release lever plastic cover (one cross head srew) and grabbing the end of the bowden cable with a pair of long nosed pliers to release the spring loaded clamp. If the cable has broken at the other end it will be a bit trickier and I have not worked out how that could be done but perhaps some other members can help.
The method of repair will depend on what has happened and where but it is all a straight forward short bowden cable set-up so you shouldn't have any problem once the seat is in the folded position.. 8)
