I am looking for some source of synthetic rubber (or somthing similar, flexible but bill hod its shape) to make simple wheel arch extensions and mud flaps out of. I think it should be about 4mm thick.

Any one know where I can get some and any prices?

If only there were anything available as you describe, life would be a lot cheaper.

Off roaders everywhere would kill for something like that.

I've just cut back my body and arches to accept bigger tyres and had to put arches on. A search revealed nothing, asking off roaders revealed only commercial made arches available.

Prices for arches, shocking 8O I ended up buying standard arches and cutting these to fit the new profile. Because of the new profile I'm left with arches that only resemble eyebrow type arches. Below this i will have to fit something else 8O

There are commercially available indestructable arches available for Land rovers, but for what they cost you could buy a new car 8O so if you can find anything in this country for a nissan then good luck.

If you do please let me know as I and hundreds of others want some too.

4x4AT do a universal strip that you cut to length for making arches with.

Do you have link as I searched the site and even phoned them to ask about arches. They said they only had (for Disco) standard or indestructable. Standard are being discontinued and indestructable are over £200 + VAT + p & p 8O

They made no mention of any strips, but in all fairness i only asked about arches.

It doesn't seem to be on the website, it is in the hard catalogue I got at the open day and I was discussing it with one of their people then too.

Unfortunately I binned the catalogue, I find 4x4AT a bit too bling for me and over priced too. Someone else who went may have one though.

Thanks I have one buried in the spare room somewhere along with tons of other "worthwhile save stuff" I'll have a look.

trouble is I've done mine now and I have a feeling theres might be the flat stuff like conveyor belt rubber.

I have bought some universals but I would preffer to find some thing as I described I shall look further.

Try Kaydee Plastics if you are just after flat sheet.

They make and sell Kaylan as flat shet but also mould it to shape too. Kaylan is the stuff used on rally cars from WRC to clubman as mud flaps and under body protection etc, its virtually unbreakable and available in different hardness/flexibility grades also available in different colours. It is not the cheap blue rally 'style' mud flaps you see on chavved up corsa's btw.

Too late for mine now, nut there universal flares look good., and a good price too.

If you buy them for set vehicle again they are over £200 8O

NN Man you could PM Bluebull as he's got some extensions fitted to his T2 after he had his new lift & wheels fitted but they may have been done by LA :? It was just a thought
