SWB Terrano ZD30 Middle silencer

Guys, a quick question.
Today I got the old silencer of the truck and wanted to replace it with the new one I ordered online.
Only to find out that the new one is to long. The info said for SWB only, but my gues it that it's still for a LWB.
Looking online most of the silencers are the same size as the wrong one is.

My old one seems to be about 100 cms long when I hold the old broken pipe next to it while measuring.

On eBay I found some silencers but without any sizes mentioned.
Milners has one, it looks okay on the picture but not sure as well.

So, do you have any good experiences with a silencer in a shop/site/ebay?

I bought a full system from Milners. Had it fitted at my local garage without any problems.
12 months on and it looked to be in a worse state than the old one but it's still ok to date. Must be 2 years now although my mileage has reduced a fair bit due to having a company van.
That said, I wouldn't buy another system at all. Stainless pipe and maybe an after market silencer next. :thumb2

Out of my head Milner gives at least 2 years waranty.
Sounds like I'm going that way

Going stainless is something I thought about, but having horses behind the truck it propably is to loud

Have to concur what people have said, my Milners exhaust had been on the truck for less than two years but I’d bought it slightly over the two years so warranty was dead. Somewhere on here there will be photos but the condition of the exhaust was terrible.
A stainless doesn’t have to be louder than standard. I’m lucky here I have a large choice of exhaust suppliers.

Cut it and weld it is my answer, if you cannot weld then mark it up and take it to a welder, better than getting another, Rick

Was thinking about that option, but I'm away next week so when I'm not at home the new one can come and I can mount that one when I'm back.
Also don't know a good welder over here and can't do it on my own :nenau

Another option if you don't have access to a welder is to cut a section out of the straight pipe to get the correct length and fit a collar to join it back together.

I have had a number of bespoke stainless systems on vehicles, always asked for a silent version even with nice tail pipe options - never had noise issues. Used PD Gough at Watnall - prices not daft - lifetime warranty.

That is maybe even a better option then getting a new silencer.

I'm with elty on this one, mainly because I've done this sort of adaption, successfully, many times. It pays to use gun gum on the surfaces though.

When I ordered my system off ebay & eventually got round to fitting it I was horrified to find a 12mm gap between the front downpipe & silencer. No spacers being available at short notice I ended up cutting the old flange off, using 2 gaskets, lots of gun gum & elongating the rear pipe mountings to suit! Much to my relief, 2 years on it's still holding well.

What it is to be a time-served bodger LOL.

This morning I got the exhaust workes out.
Cut a section of the pipe from the new silencer and put a collar around it so everything is closed again. Did put some gun gum around the edges so they are sealed

Couldn't find any leaks while testing my work so it should work out okay.
Tomorrow is gonna be the big test while I'm gonna drive to my work.
