What do the short wheel bases tow like?

We tow the caravan with the Long wheel base, and it's perfect, but from experience with the Vitara, the long wheel bases were fine, but the short wheel base tended to "Tip Toe" and bounce from front to rear wheels over the slightest bump, which was horrible with any form of trailer on the back, let alone a long journey towing a caravan.

Also, I take it, being lighter, it has a lower towing, figure, anyone know what it is?

Thanks.

I'm sure it's 2.8 tonne, same as LWB.
It's manual and autos that differ, autos only pull 1.6 tonne (I think):nenau

The tow weight is the same but what the difference is like when towing I don't know as never towed (apart from recoveries) with either of mine but I find the LWB has a softer more layed back ride compared to the SWB:rolleyes: TBH my LWB just isn't as much fun to drive on a nice twisty road like my SWB was:(

I like the ride of the LWB.:lol

I can't believe how hard it is to find out the weight of the SWB, all the info on line relates to the LWB.

So no one tows with a SWB?

SWB is about 1730 kg
I've pulled 3.5 tonnes of sand in a big piss off trailer with no probs :thumbs
I was home before plod could catch me :naughty
