I'm still amazed at your collective reticence to use Bio :nenau
You can have it delivered and at 82-90p a litre, depending how much you buy, it runs neat, no cold issues and you don't need to dilute your savings with diesel:doh
Hey ho :beer

Hey ho :beer

so where do we get it for 82P

From a bloke nr Manchester :lol
I'm picking up 2000 litres on Monday so I'll get his details on here if he's ok with that:sly
Don't want to blow his cover :naughty
I'll just have a spy for his web site then you can work a deal. I do every time we order and find cash is king :sly

Right here's the link for a guy called Ric.
He makes the stuff we've been buying for 18 months now:thumbs
The ad says 99p a litre but that includes IBC and Delivery and Duty............
So what we do is bring our own ibc and get the "off road" stuff. That just means it's not duty paid, but then if yuo're not using more than 2500 litre per year you dont need to:sly
You should be able to get him down to 89p easily, good luck:thumb2

Good luck and enjoy, cause it's ruddy cheap and runs a treat :naughty

when using SVO then ... is it a 50/50 mix with forecourt diesel ?

Is that any brand of pure new clean cooking oil ?

seems to me a lot of hassle for little saving

i have a 1998 Mistral 2.7 ..

50/50 when its cold weather when its warm you can run on near enough 100% yes pure unused is best and when you think about it at £2.97 for 3ltr of veg oil you have already saved £1.20 on what it would have cost for diesel so on a full tank run on 100% veg oil its a saving of about £32

Sorry for being a bit green on this subject ...

When you say almost 100% during summer is that from a seperate tank in the boot ?

surely it needs regular forecourt diesel to initially start the engine then change over to shop oil ..

a friend of mine is running his Ford Galaxy on 50/50 using used filtered chip shop oil he gets from someone locally ... What is the downside of using used oil like this as opposed to new clean oil ?

its not full of all the crap that used oil is and you have to remember the diesel engine was originally built to run on peanut oil on a nice summers day it start up fine with just veggie oil

mine is running on about 80% oil (maybe higher) I don't work the ratio out just pour it in the tank, and occasionally stick some diesel in. There is no way I would ever put used cooking oil in a car!

Where do we start....water, animal fats, acids, food additives, yadda yadda yadda......much of which can't be filtered out because its in solution.

Its fine for making bio-diesel but NEVER stick it in a vehicle as is, filtered or no. Your mate might get away with it for a while if he's diluting it enough, but eventually the shite will accumulate in his fuel pump etc and that will be that - an expensive rebuild.
