morning all . just a couple of quick questions . how much work goes into replacing the rear upper suspension brackets on the t2's . I know you can get the part http://nissan4u.com/parts/terrano2/...dy_front_roof_and_floor/frame/illustration_2/ it is part number 23 and 26 . what I would like to know is. can it be done without removing the body and just lifting it and getting under it and are they welded on or bolt on.

on the 2nd row of seat on the seat locking clip but under Neath there are thick metal plates . mine have been eaten by rot . does anyone know what would be the best way to replace these ( ie how thick and size ) because I cant seem to find them anywhere . I have no where but the side of the road to do this work. so easiest ways please

hi geoffdown thanks for that . you are the first person I have seen on here from devon :thumbs . where abouts in devon you from if you don't mind me asking ? do you know how thick the chassis is . I only have a little hobby welder that's does upto 4mm thick.

you will need to at least lift the body up and remove the rubber mounts that sit on top, they are welded on, iirc the chassis is 3mm thick but i'm probably wrong :lol

is there anyone that has cut a chassis and has bits laying around that they could gauge the thickness. I just need to find out if my little Clarke 130 en welder could do the job

I'm not far from u I live in crediton the u shape of the chassis is bout 3 mm and the inner plate which faces each other is thinner but don't no if it changes near mounts my welder is a bit bigger then urs top amps 180A but the gas bottle is massive

geoffdown
we should arrange sometime to meet up . then I can show you what it's like . then you can give me your opinion on them. my local garage won't even look or give me a price . all he says is it £40 per hour

here another question . how hard is it to remove and replace the bolts that hold the body on ?and does anyone know what size there are ? as in length and thread are the standard ones

Cut one up for scrap once its not that thick 2-2.5 mm at most

Lwb has 6 m10 bolts 100mm long held on with nuts and 4 m12 100mm long fine pitch that are captive into the body
there are 4 bungs in the floor under the carpet which cover the bolt heads, they need prising out
and the bolts can be stubborn to undue,

Sounds like he wants your custom :lol

We charge 110+ per hour! I wouldn't speak to a customer like that! just think it :sly

can anyone tell me where the 10 bolts are inside because I can't find anywhere that tells me . plus the 4 captive one is it the nut or bolt that's captive . because my mate said just grind them off and replace because you can't get a socket or spanner on them. I had the bumpers and interior out before not a problem . but how much more work goes into lifting the body up and how long would it take
