Hi, i think i have read here that you can lift a swb terrano by replacing the rear springs with those off a lwb terrano.

How much will this lift the rear by, and why?

Is it because the lwb springs are longer or stiffer or both.

Thanks,

a little of both, the LWB is heaver, so they as stiffer, and to make it ride at the same height a bit longer.

fitted to a swb, it lifts the back some 2" i belive.

the front can be lifted with the tortion bars.
simples.

Mine is a lwb by the way so i do not want to buy them to find they have made no difference except for maybe softening the suspension even .

pm simon teranosorus he did the springs for everyone here . for half that price.

Ok will do thanks,
Did not know anyone here sold them.

Regards,
Kelley

if your interested ill ring him

I have just tried to pm Simon and his inbox is full so have sent the message to myself to save me retyping at a later date.

I definitely want springs for a 2" lift if Simon can supply them.
Especially as they appear to be proven by many of the good folk here:D
But no need to ring him right now as there is no real rush but if you speak to him if you could mention it.

And i will try and pm him again tomorrow.

Thanks again:)

Not got any springs at the moment I'm afraid and I need to get a decent batch to make it worth while but no plans at the moment.

Hi Simon,

There is no rush as i probably will not do the lift for maybe 6 months to a year as i have 7mm tread left on my current tyres and thought that i would do the lift just before replacing the tyres so i could go a bit bigger.
(So need to get the money for the new tyres put by first also)

Also still suffering with new car syndrome, Where every new blemish no matter how tiny wounds me and gets wiped with a wet finger as i shake my head.

That said i would like the springs sooner rather than later, as then i would have them put by ready.

So could you let me know in future if things change.

Thanks Mate,
Kelley

LWB springs in a SWB give just over standard height, of course older springs will have sagged so may actually gve more or less lift than that. New lift springs will give a true 2" (or whatever they are rated at) over standard height so may actually goe more if fitted to a vehicles with sagging springs.
