front radiator need fixing to chassy

total cost for cat 312 including fitting 50 mot

now im getting that done or i can fuss about with it my self and save 200 quid local motor factors 89 quid

so iv got the metal to weld but i need a clear day:(:(:(:(:(

i was hoping to get some pics but i cant find my memory card

Well sounds like u might have to rethink the family friendly mot centre lol

All depends on the tester on that day
Some think a car of a certain age shouldn't be on road and find all the faults they can to fail them
Others stick to the letter of the rule book and u don't get an idea of how the truck is generally
I travel 60 miles round trip to my mate who mots my truck at least one it passes and u get an idea of how the truck is wearing eg might need brakes doing in 6 month etc not just a well it's passed what more u need to know

I'd rethink the halfords opinion if I were you. If they've missed welding (which they can't do) but picked up the exhaust (which they can ) I'd suggest an ulterior motive, which could potentially put you in danger.

Just had my front wings off to bitchumin the inner wings and I found my front panel/ rad mount was snapped:(, so I've slowly( 3 weeks) been welding mine back together, now got 6mm of hardened steel stuck to my front body mounts.

Only telling you this as if you DIY it at least you know how good a job it is and not some spotty apprentice blobing a plate on then putting 3 lts of stone chip on it to cover, and yes that is an experience I'm not going through again!!!!!!

thats what iv done iv done a bead on each side of 6m and even bent it into place the welding on the passenger side is done he passed that but becouse meatball has the same problem as mine that halfords didnt pick it up on the drivers side becouse its undercover and couldnt be seen and they guy said that is an mot failer but becouse he couldnt phisicaly move that object way so. it passed. he did it by the book but i think the book is wrong.
