Hi everyone Happy New Year to all.
Does anyone know where you can purchase the weatherseal for the T2 sunroof?
Phoned local Nissan dealer yesterday and was told you have to buy the whole glass and I then enquired how much and was told £913+VAT :lol

Yes ive got one will do it for half that price:lol only joking is it a seal attached to the glass

Have done the two at the front but the guy at the Nissan garage said there is two rear ones as well - is that correct?

Yes there is, they come out the door pillar bettween the driver and rear passenger doors.

I took the head lining out and found them, (I was not looking for them) they attatch to the rear of the sunroof frame.

Thanks, the dealer said you need to remove the sunroof glass to get to them so will have a try when it is not raining

Just looked at mine cant see them but as said you cant see the back corner with the glass there.Would have thought unless you park on hill front one should do the job.

take glass out then carefully remove the seal around the glass and put it back on with silcone sealer what happens it rust under this seal and lets water in and not in to the drain hole s had it on my 2000 plate t2 might sort it out its only like £900 + vat cheaper if it does work:lol

Surely if it's the factory slide and tilt sun roof then you don't need to take glass out to clean the drains. Should be able to just slide it back shouldn't you?
Don't forget the sunroof drains get blocked at the bottom, especially the front ones. Open the front doors and look in the crevis behind the hinges, mud gathers at the bottom there and clogs it all up. Simply leave door open and hose all the mud out.
Also as said about the seal around the glass it's self, I didn't remove it but got a tube of tiger seal and pushed the nozzle between glass and seal, then ran a bead of sealer all the way around that way.

sunroof drains

Hi,

Have had exactly the same problem as you.

I have had to clean the drain tubes both front and rear on mine today as my front seats were wet through!

To get to the tubes on the front remove the sun visors, grab handles, sunroof control panel, sunroof seal and door seals. This gives you access to the tubes.

Next lower the head lining and you will see the pipes in the front corners. Pull the pipes off the sunroof. I connected a portable tyre compressor to mine and blew them through. Drivers side was ok but passenger took nearly 25 psi to blow the blockage out! Tipped water down the pipes and check it comes out of the sills behind the front mub flaps.

The rears are the same process, remove the rear grab handles by the rear doors (if its a five door) the plastic trims and the door seals. carfully pull the headlining down enough for access and remove the rear pipes, connect the air line to them and blow through. These pipes exit bend the rear wheels between the mud flaps and back bumper.

I connected up the four pipes after blowing through then carefully tipped water into the sunroof channels and watched the water run out of the four exits.

Took a couple of hrs to clean out all 4 but it hopefully will be worth it.

Whilst I was up there I cleaned the felt seal all round the glass, mine was covered in green mould, thought this may be allowing water in, or at the very least not helping.

Good luck,

Steve
