And then to convert it to keep the tax man happy you have to...... take the top off the container and pour it in.. bri

So, having read many threads on this, can someone just clear up a simple question?

Can I lob SVO straight in to my Troll 4.2d? Either 100% in warmer weather, or mixed when the colder weather comes???

What sort of mpg do you get on SVO I've found I only get about 25 on sunflour and a bit better on rapeseed 28+ but I'm getting 35 from derv one thing I did discover by trial and error was if I mix rapeseed and derv 50/50 I get 33+ thats in summer I don't risk vegi in the winter

not sure age of your yoke but a PATROL-4,2 D TURBO 1987-98 TD42 only needs 1-Tank-Kit so basically the answer to your question is yes.

i went in feet first and ran on 100% SVO and no starts up ok but i had already have a leisure battery under the bonnet which is handy because i can switch it on or off if i find the oil is taking it's time to start and draining the battery in the process.

i fitted a pre heater as well, you don't need this but i have it so i can run 100% all year round as it heats the oil before the injection pump.

so if you still unsure go 50/50 or 80/20 and if all is ok increase the percentage until 100% but if you find it is a real bad starter which you only get if your battery and heater plugs are weak, sometimes use heater plugs a few times before starting will help but anyway if it is bad starting just add about 10 ltrs of diesel to every full tank this will work.

i found my vehicle runs smoother and much more quieter and gear ratio is much smoother as well, it feels like a new vehicle its lovely to drive with the radio off and window down as i would have the radio on loud to drown out engine noises in the past and i feel i'm getting more MPG due to smooth driving less gear changing while driving around in urban lol.

Cheers iceman. Theres so much info on here about this issue, sometimes its a bit confusing. Will give it a go though!
