Sunflower oil mmmmm :D Stick it straight in mate, dont spoil it with stinky expensive diesel :sly
How much you getting it for:augie

95p  defo dont put diesel in then or you'll hardly save anything:augie
Try Makro or similar for veggie oil, you should get it a bit cheaper than that:thumbs

saving 23p litre rnd here goin to look into bulk buy next bookers or somewere like that going hols tomas so just thought every little helps

I'm new to this cheap diesel malarky!!

SVO = Sunflower Veg oil - My mate gets this from Bookers for 75P/L

WVO = Waste Veg Oil

What is the problem with WVO if it's processed properly??

I have aquired a processing unit that heats the waste oil to 60 Deg C then mixes it with methanol and caustic soda to remove the fats n 5H!t and will do 150L at a time the sums work out at 15-20p/L assuming you get the waste oil for nowt!
Currently my local kebab shop pays to have 25L/5days taken away....
I need to sort some space in my garage and get a few new pipes but should be up and running soon!!

nice 1 bookers 75p ive got 1 not to far away and have access to a card think they will be gettin a visit do u know wot size containers they come in

I think they are 20 -25L!

If asked you have a chippy, it's easier than trying to explain the workings of an internal combustion engine that was designed to run on peanut oil!!!!!!!!!!
LOL!!

wvo they can pay u to take it away then recycle it will owe u nowt then quids in

Even at 25p/L thats equivelent to 500Mpg from a 4.2D LWB Troll with 7 seats not bad at all !!

Stick that up your pipe green party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

thought oil was suppose to be more envriro freindly even better your recycling

:naughty :augie

I do that as the chippy is opposite me mum n dads or get diesel from my boss for 90p a litre :D
Or Bio station for 98p but thats to dear
Only use the pump in emergency :(

Just started using sunflower oil, 83p litre from ASDA not more than 50/50 starts and runs as usual but smells much nicer. Zippy is away on holiday towing his caravan at 100% ASDA sunflower oil, no doubt he will tell us all about it when he comes back...... if he gets back from
Dorset. regards bri

Wvo is difficult to get right. Youll end up with saturated animals fats in solution if you don't get it bang on and they'll kill your engine easily, the general concensus on the sites is other than in industrial cleaners you cant get it 100% clean :thumb2

I don't know what your background is , if its with methanex or someone similar you'll know more than the average :D but for the uninitiated methanol producers/sellers/distributors will tell you how dodgy the storage and heating process is in a domestic environment

Mind you if like me you enjoy experimenting :naughty:naughty:naughty:naughty:naughty:lol

Cant believe the negative comments I got a year or so ago on some threads on here for using svo :confused::confused: now youre all bloody at it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the kit off a mate at work who used it for 70 - 80K in his 300tdi defender with no problems!! He worked part time for a local potato farmer with a sideline in chips ( part cooked in veg oil ) so an endless supply of oil.
The kit cost £4500 when he bought it and now just needs a good clean and a few new hoses!!
Oh and a bloody good clearout of the garage!!

Go for it:thumb2. But please let me know when you're cooking methanol , womt be visiting your neck of the woods that day. Therell be a better fireball than during the allotment wars :D

 300L of methanol in the garage at the mo!

:doh must limt the use of the angle grinder to outside:doh

 you don't actually heat the methanol you only ad it to the boiling fat:eek:

new to all this, what do you have to do to use veg oil? is it just a case of adding 50/50 when you put derv in? just read thses threads and i'm now very interested.:nenau
