I think the box under the seat is something to do with the stereo system? someone will know for sure.

I still think your issue is using used oil!

well under the passenger seat it CAN be the CD changer but I have an idea that some early trucks had the ECU there as well....not certain though.

wouldnt it be simpler and easier perhaps , to just treat red diesel ?:nenau:eek:

DON'T treat or put red diesel in. It makes a mess in the tank. I use it in a tractor and it even coats the barrel I keep it in. If you get dipped, the fine is four figures plus confiscation of your motor. David.

Waste Veg Oil needs dewatering and filtering. When it is heated during the cooking process it denatures so needs sorting. The water is combined into the oil (beware of soap!) rather than just being mixed so will just combust badly and may just cause problems. WVO is great for converting to bio but not for using instead of new veg oil.

home brew

i was going to go the home brew route but my supposed free or very cheap supply of wvo dried up the 1st week so will start the hunt for a new supplier in the new year and will give bio a go

on the flip side to this 1 of my clients used to dewater wvo filter it and put it straight in his hilux for years with no problems what so ever

I suppose it depends on exactly what oil it is, what it has been used for, and the car it goes in is another variable. As a general rule I don't think used veg oil is a good idea at all

My truck was on bio 100% all last winter no issues at all :thumb2 Good glow plugs reqd though
Might bung some acetone in anyway to see if it does what the Luvgluv claims :sly
