Sunflower oil at Tescos 1/2 price

2 Litre bottles of Flora Pure Sunflower Oil are £1.49 in Tesco from December 6th - January 3rd.

Now Mr Zippy I am pleased you have posted that because I was about to start a thread about
veggie oil, I will use yours if you dont mind.

Veggie oil... I have been using sun flower oil from asda mixed with derv this year and then asda changed the offer of six litres for £5 to the asda veggie oil for six litres for £5.

During this cold spell I have kept a jar of each oil on the window sill and the result has surprised me. The SUNFLOWER oil which seemed the thinnest during normal temp has turned into a paste resembling vasaline!!! whilst the VGGIE oil doesn't appear to have been affected by the very cold temperatures we have had.

I suggest you do a test, I would not put sunflower oil in again until the spring. I was experiencing lumpy running and a sort of miss fire on light throttle openings.

I will now leave the veggie mix until the spring. regards bri

well that surprises me too, there is still six inches of pure sunflower oil sitting in my field in the bottom of an IBC in temperatures down to -10. just been and looked and its slopping about nicely, so I guess theres sunflower oil and sunflower oil....the stuff I got came from Germany and was intended for the cosmetics industry, so clearly the Tesco stuff ain't quite what its cooked up to be??

i put 25% veggie 75 Diesel when it get cold.. ( my friest winter ) time will tell.

but all running well sofar.. will be even better when i get the air leak sorted out..

not sure you know but ive got a heat exchanger fitted...
