Made a bit of a booboo on the date Bio UK Fuels aren't open on a Sunday however if there are enough of us wanting to fill up (3 or 4 will do it) then one of the owners only lives 10 mins away and is happy to come down and open up for us. There price on Bio is always at least 10p/L less than the very cheapest in Sheffield. I've run my Renault Master on it all winter and have had no problems at all. Even in the coldest weather I never used less than 75% bio - likewise the Terrano, it doesn't run on it exclusively but gets more bio than dino. A trip ut green laning with a warm engine would be a good time to try it, you'll have no cold start issues cos your engine will already be warm and you can always top up with dino on the way home to dilute it for later.

They also sell dino so you can put a mix in straight from them all in one place.

Managed to swap my shifts this wknd so am deffo up for this laning trip :thumb2

Just a note to everyone - dont forget the clocks go forward this wknd, wouldn't want any confusion over the meet time :doh :lol

Sorry boss we'll be out in the woods in mid wales:sly
By the way your inbox is full:augie

is this outing still on :nenau as there doesn't seem to be much interest

was looking forward (in a nervous way lol) to this as it would be my first experience of green laning

Yes still going, there are others from Yorks-Lincs 4x4 Response coming too. Should be a nice day out.

Bring lunch and drinks etc and if you ave a CB that will be useful, if not and you have some those little PMR radios do the job or I can lend you one on the day.

great :thumb2

I've just fitted a c.b last week :clap

Be gentle with me, see you on sunday (I'll be in a silver navara d/cab) :D

As no one seems bothered about filling up with Bio (more fool them) lets meet up in the car park near Rivelin Mill Bridge HERE I don't know it myself it just looks a suitable spot, unless anyone else has another suggestion.

Please comfirm you have read the above so I know everyone is going to go to the same place.

Hi
I was going to fill up with bio but i can fill up elsewhere beforehand.
Is there a postcode for this new meet point (for the tom tom) if not i should be able to find it by the road numbers.
see you all in the morning :thumb2

Not many coming in the end unfortunately

Simon Bentley (me) -T2
Rob Woodworth - 110 double cab
wagpab - N&FM4x4OC - D22 Double cab
Neil Howson - leaky Disco - NOT CONFIRMED yet

Shame really but simplifies things 1 group all pretty much similar ability so should all be able to do everything without too much hassle.

I've sorted the route out on the tom tom see you all at 9:30
looks like its going to be nice weather too :D

What can say you all missed a great day, weather like mid summer, quiet lanes and great ones at that.

Wagpap's D22 is cool - made my T2 look tiny, it took everything in its stride as well it should shod as it is with 35" x 14.5" tyres - John I think the masses might appreciate a photo or 2.

well best go out again soon, and take some one who can take pics!

It seems Rob who came with us in a 110 took some as soon as he uploads em I'll post em.

As the final lane of the day we came over Houndkirk Moor as many N&FM4x4OC Derbyshire outings have in the past. But I have never seen so much damage to the moors either side of the lane as today. The idiots that have been going off piste playing, carving big ruts and generally making a mess, it was unbelievable how bad it has got. There are signs up all over warning that if you're caught they can crush your vehicle and signs up requesting people who see such activity to report it if they witness it - I for one would if I did. These sorts of things are just playing into the hands of the antis - if they want to go laning, they should go laning, but if they want more, tey should put their hands in their pocket and go to a pay and play and stop ruining things for the rest of the law abiding 4x4 community.

i know where you mean on houndkirk.
getting the same on pindale and bonsal moor.
the police are quite active around bonsal at the moment, handing out leaflets and asking alot of questions.
the land owner didn't mind until last year now it seems he has just had enough.
the main problem was cars being stolen and ragged around the old quarry then being dumped and burnt.for which he has to foot the bill to remove from his land.
some people just don't care about others and doing things the right way which just spoils it for the people that do.
alot of planning and research goes into running a laning day.its not just a case of theres a right of way lets drive it.
knowing about tro's the state of the lane and conditions on the day can have a big impact as to weather or not you drive the lane.
also another lane that is starting down that route is the one from rowland village(near monsal head) up towards the calver end there is alot of evidence of trucks driving where they like.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO DRIVE THE LANES PLEASE DO IT RIGHT!!!!

P.S can see why them tyres are called pitbulls, they look like they would eat you alive!!
nice looking truck mate:thumbs
glad to hear you had a good day and great weather which is always a bonus.
