Hi guys, i am a volunteer with the West Yorkshire 4x4 Volunteers and a friend of mine gave me a flashing orange beacon to mount to the roof of my Terrano.

I dont have roof bars and looking at the beacon i am after suggestions how i might mount it to the roof without drilling the roof.

You could prob use 1-2 CB mag mounts after a little mod so it can be removed when ever you want

If you don't have roof bars, and you don't want to drill holes, then the only other option is you will have to get a roof rack.

I just fitted my lights to the back of the roof... I did drill holes, but used "Blind Rivnuts", and fitted "S/S Deck Sockets for the power, so I can remove them if I want, and not need to worry about leaving holes...

Careful using mag mounts as there is a lot of wind resistance to those beacons, I've had one of those double beacons slide back on the roof. I found that it was better to buy a set of roof bars, you don't need to get the front to back roof rails. If it's any use I used a spare connector on the 12S towbar socket to feed the beacon. Simple switch and relay for the inside of the car.

Ive got one with a single mounting bolt so I used the ariel hole and got a magnetic stip ariel fitted inside roof lining.

I use a single bolt mount aswell on my LED beacon mounted at the rear in the centre.

Cheers Gav
