As you'll be able to see from my Avatar I've currently got a bull bar fitted with some spotlights however I'm not sure I like it, from an aesthetic point of view or a practical point of view

I feel it sticks out to far from the front of the car and it also reduces ground clearance when off-roading, I've been driving round the country side today and seen a few discoveries and other 4x4's that have bullbars that are just like a single bar that is attached to the protruding part of the bumper and still allows spotlights to be attached

Does anyone know of a style of bullbar for the Maverick or Terrano like this?

Ideally I'd like to loose everything below the last cylindrical horizonal tube that sits just above the number plate

I've never seen anything like you describe for a Maverick/Terrano (not saying there isn't anything, just that if there is I haven't seen it).

Most of the bull/A bars have the main fixing to either the pig-tail towing hook mounting points or to the two tie-down eyes, plus, on mine anyway, an upper pair of brackets that attach either side of the radiator - these brackets don't have a great deal of physical strength, they are there for support, with the primary strength coming from the two lower mountings.

With bull bars for these trucks getting quite hard to get hold of now (I searched eBay for 5 or 6 months to get my bog standard A bar), I should imagine finding something like you describe is going to be akin to needle in haystack time!

Perhaps something custom-made to order would be an (expensive) alternative?

Yeah a custom bar would be the way you want to go. Mine didn't end up that expensive when you compare it to replacing the bumber.
I was tired of smashing the front bumper so got a custom one.

Then you can throw a nice lightbar on it....

Where did you get your custom one made?

Hi ,Banshee. The answer to your question on the other post. Yes I can send a photo of my a bar. Not home at moment. When home will take photo. I think I might even remember where I bought it from. Might have to do it tomorrow. As I am using my blackberry at the moment and can only just about see the text on this screen
