Okay, been offered a bit of green laning/off roading, along an old Roman road in mid S Wales.

It has been recce'd by a set of Discos (D3/D2)......whatever that means.....:doh

It is quite 'boney' in parts, with a 'step' at one point, not impossible with care and correct AGM.

They expressed the view that 'lesser machines' may not cope with it.......now......that seems on one hand, a little LR elitist, but also sensible, as you wouldn't want to take a soft roader up there and wreck it........but......we own very capable vehicles.

So......your views on this please.......:bow

I will try to attach some pictures, but they are in my phone currently and need throwing over to the tablet......

If you have plenty of meat on your tyres a standard truck is very capable, it’s often us that aren’t as capable.
Went along all kinds of lanes in my old truck with a good set of boots on, tried it with low tread and it was inddeed not very good in mud.

If they are standard vehicles I would say the terrano wouldn’t have a problem, LR owners always think they have the best machines but my patrol out performed a disco 2 on a hants and berks training day!

This is one pic, next post pic 2

Really sorry for the posting of dubious images on this family orientated forum........:nenau :sly

Just take up singing and sing “anything you can do
I can do better” :lol

Plenty meat on your tyres and you’ll be fine, just use your transfer box.

Jim,

Had to laugh at that one.....:clap

I've got good rubber, so we'll see.....

My old truck sat on Bridgestone HTs road tyres and did really well. I fitted ATs all round and to be fair didn’t make much difference, tried Falcons but they seemed to wear very quickly and then stuck with Toyo Open Country. Can’t remember what my current trucks have on but they’re round and black so must be good :doh

Your truck will cope with that terrain easily mate, make sure you can select low box and you'll be fine :thumb2

Search the bastard lane/horseshoe lane in Wales on youtube, Rick and Blocky did that in standard terrano's, I had a two inch lift I think! Also Rick's truck was carrying a shedload of tools, his wife and two very happy Jack Russells :lol I was impressed tbh :bow

Thank you guys :bow

I have used mine in the forest, pulling over, and pulling out big timber.....so I am happy about the performance of my Terry on bad ground.....:D

L/R guys seem so......focussed on their vehicles.......we are no different really......we just know we have better machines......:augie :sly :thumb2 :clap

Trust me, when it happens, there will be a degree of smugness and an outbreak of your song....:clap :thumb2
