I managed to find some white stuff to get stuck in! Perhaps the mountain road wasn't such a good idea...

Large snowdrifts and a lack of momentum put paid to this route. After getting unstuck, we beat a retreat. Our wheeltracks were the only ones on this section!

Fez I may get "lost" on the way to work tomorrow :sly Fancy a dabble :naughty

T'was the mountain road to Mac. As we reversed out of there, a Sky van decided to give it a miss as well.

ah right, this area here is clear but Ive heard lampeter has snow. Also the hills will have snow here. Going to pop up my local hill now to see.

sadly was not as much but it isn't that high and my close area seems to be pretty clear.

But small drifts in a places.

Well, I had the wife with me! She was able to provide all the pushing I need...

I have been laning on my own as well (not in the Maverick) but very cautiously - ie know your limits BEFORE you get stuck. I won't go solo in the Mav yet, as I don't know what it can/can't handle.

I think we are all aware of the dos and donts. But aslong as you know the area and you are able to walk out of there or ring a mate for recovery help then its a very very small risk.

chances are you are more at risk on the road driving due to the fact of the other cars.

pete txt me if so, I have a day off tomorrow but have a few things to do.

Stuck? you sure your front hubs are working? Rick

dont worry, Landy owners will be cowering behind the sofa.....

Was this photo of you when you were stuck ?:doh
Virgin snow as well, no you cannot be serious.....:doh
It's not April the first is it...:doh

As Solar man says, is your 4 wheel drive working, also what oil do you have in the rear diff.

What tyres do you have.....?

I've heard of people getting stuck in their own drive before so you are not alone.

I've tackled snow deeper than that in an Austin Ambassador with no problems, and that was on a hill, virgin snow, great stuff.

I love to play in the deep stuff, :thumb2

photos never show whats it's really like.

not all snow is the same

I was just sat behind the sofa and smelt a stuck Nissan.... :lol

Were supposed to be getting some more of the white stuff Saturday :thumbs

I may have to pop up to the Roaches:D

Hubs are working fine. Front tyres are brand new all-terrains, rears fairly worn but still legal. Snow was very powdery and blown across the road in deep drifts (deeper on the side you can't see - gawd knows why I'm steering into it!). Was very cold and icy as well, so traction was not really there. Rear axle is doing its thing ok, though I've got fresh oil too.

No other vehicle had attempted to drive through this - we found out why!

driver error? :augie

Well, if you call trying to take a mountain road after a heavy fall of snow an error, then yes! You need momentum for drifts, but I was easing off, looking for somewhere to turn, when it all went a bit motionless.
