Hi, as said in the introduction I am looking at getting a terrano. The trouble is which one. I know I want a seven sweater with leather and the last shape but I'm torn between the 2.7 and 3.0. I know the 3.0 is more powerful, more frugal and more modern, but, the 2.7 seems much tougher and it is going to be used properly, ie to tow and harrow and be used as a work horse. How much abuse can the 3.0 take and is the DIY maintenance as easy?

I have tried the search option but it hasn't thrown up any results.

Bloody apple products, why do they decide to change random words in a sentence??? Obviously 7 seater would be more practical than sweaters lol

Yeah 7 sweaters, are you Scottish :p

The 2.7 is amazing, also runs on veggie, the 3.0 cant cope with that. Depends what you will use it for I guess :thumb2

2.7 and not just cuz I own one.
Parts are cheaper and they run on veg oil.

as a tough workhorse, its close, but the 2.7 definitely. The 3.0 is good, and just as easy to fix but not as easy to service and a smidge more expensive in that respect, so the savings you make on the running costs are lost.

When I came to get another Terrano TBH I wasn't bothered which engine it had in it I just wanted a Terrano again:lol the 3L are nice having a bit more power & they do give slightly better MPG but the off set I think is the oil pressure switch probs & i've heard of people having turbo probs. I ended up with a 2.7 again as it was really low mileage but having an almost bomb proof engine is nice plus no timing belts or chains to replace:D plus the 2.7 runs on veg oil no probs & will do very high mileage & once you learn how to wind them up they don't hang about either & leave shoguns & disco 300TDI's standing at the lights

I'm almost ready to with d mine up a bit.
Just about to fit 33" tyres.
Need to tweek my turbo and fit a man amp very soon:naughty

Sorry maf amp.(predictive spelling)
It fools the ECU into putting more fuel in and giving more power.
Its/a cheap boost for £50.
