hi there. just wondering if anyone knows why my clutch pedal is a bit sticky!

the clutch engages and disengages fine but sometimes the clutch pedal doesnt go all the way up/out. could this be the master cylinder on the way out! i have bled it a while back but don't think it made a diference. any clue would be appreciated

This is quite a common thing, mine does it sometimes when i'm off road!!
But usually just the once, just nudge it up!
Cant remember what actualy coz's this, some one will tho!!

The hydraulic system on the clutch is a bit strange, There is a pipe that goes to just above the rear axle called a damper pipe. What you have described is the usual signs that this pipe has a leak its long enough not to let air into the slave or master cylinder.

Mine has done it for last 3 years to no detrimental effect ,just got to lift up every so often.

they are also a pain in the but to bleed and if its not done right you can get the same problem I found the best way was to use a pressure bleeder connected to the damper bleed screw and force the fluid back to the resivour. I have also bypassed the damper pipe without any problems just had a braided flexible line made up to go from the master to slave cylinder

Hi ciould write a book on clutch problems with my T2, but been trouble free for a while now.
I too have done away with the damper pipe that runs to near the back axle, with out any problems.
just didnt seem to do much.

Mine does the same once in a while. The fluid level hasn't dropped a bit in 3 years. I thought the fault was wear in the nylon bush on the pedal. The point where the master cylinder rod is linked to the pedal by a clevis pin, there appears to be a nylon/plastic bush through the hole in the pedal. There is some play there allowing quite a bit of travel before the rod moves. If there was a step in this bush it could catch the clevis pin. I'll change it eventually.

mine did this for about a month on and off. until the brackets on the clutch pedal snapped.

once welded back together i noticed its like a new car no wobble in the pedal at all, i guess i just thought it was normal to have play from side to side
