Mates got an old stick welder he doesn't want and will sell it cheap, not seen it yet and dont know what it is.

Anyone used one ?

Google suggests it would be fine on rock sliders and heavy stuff, so I might take a punt on it and have a crack at my rock sliders ( instead of waiting for my welding mate )

Stick welders are great for thick stuff, but body work, no way you will just end up with holes, if you are welding your rock sliders to the chassis then maybe but still better with MIG, Rick

Stick welding is for more penetration on thicker metals minimum 2 mm and up, with the right MIG welder you can with practice weld and build on 1mm or less, a stick welder cannot even think about this, Rick

tig is where you manually feed a filler rod into a arc created by a torch held in your other hand used alot on ally welding quite tricky
dont run before you can walk grasshopper:lol
