Steering wheel outer on the 4.2 has started to delaminate from the metal core :(

I believe it can be sorted by drilling a few small holes in the back and squirting in silicone but I'm looking at all the options, anyone running an aftermarket steering wheel in their truck?

Just put a bmx tyre around it ye wee Scottish bodgerrrrr

I've now got one in mine.

Well when I say in mine I mean ready to go in.

How about a nice retro wooden one for the y60 :augie

Funnily enough the exact same one that Tim has in his swb on the facebook site :lol

It was a total coincidence, I had bought mine, must have been 8 months ago or something I bought it, before I seen Tim's interior so that was a bit unfortunate.

I also have new bucket seats in the front too but all this will get updated on my thread as and when I get it all back on the road.

Here you are:thumbs thought it may help get you through the water crossings:lol

I have an aftermarket steering wheel.
Went for the suede one with yellow tape at the top so I have some idea where straight ahead is.
Photobucket is being a twonk again so pic will be along in 2018 :doh

Got a pic?, what is it made of??

You mean the Trol's current steering wheel? It's just the standard rubberised type steering wheel :nenau but the outer coating is losing its adhesion to the metal inner so it twists like a motorcycle grip :(

Ah I geddit, don't use silicone then it will just do the same but straight away. Tiger seal would be my choice mate, it really is very good stuff :thumb2

If you go for aftermarket wheel, or even if not, have you though aboot a quick release boss, boss?:D

I'd make comment about the boat wheel but I'm the Original Captain Jack Sparrow after I undid the bolt on my steering box and then spun my wheel around like I was on a pirate ship and damaged the air bag squib :doh

Yeh have decided to go aftermarket as not massively keen on having a steering wheel with lots of wee holes drilled in it. Sticking with a standard boss though as otherwise I'd need to fit a seperate switch for the horn... also don't fancy dropping near £100 on a boss
