I am not a big fan of airbags and was wondering how to remove my steering wheel without it going off. Also my new steering wheel has no airbag and was wondering if the airbag light will stay on?

Hi mate

Long time no speak :thumb2, I've recently removed a set of late 2004 seats with side airbags and soldered some resistors where the plug should have gone in and that sorts the air bag light out, not sure if it's the same procedure with the Steering Wheel

I tell you who will know though, SNH has fitted a Momo one to his sexy sexy Maverick, ask him what he did :thumb2

If ever you slacken the nut on the wheel, leave a couple of threads engaged, as for some reason, when you thump it from the back, the wheel has a habit of catching you on the bridge of the nose... it takes two days for the swelling to go down... so I'm told....:doh

I too have a Momo steering wheel to fit as I gave up on gluing my flexy rubbery standard wheel as I just seamed to be making a mess. I'm sure someone will be along soon that has done it.

Rustic I know someone who nearly knocked them selves out with an Austin mini steering wheel, once I was told the tale of the steering wheel in the face I learnt from his mistake and now leave the nut on. :doh

I took the bulb out in the end. Couldn't work out which wire was which for the resistor after trying numerous ways.
I also had to put the horn on a button mounted on the dash, boss must be a cheapo thing.

Cheers dude.

It's not all that close up :lol

Nah she's looking rough. Desperate need of 2 front wings.

I did however buy a modded Berlingo roof rack and Southdown snorkel for it this week. Put with the other bits ready to fit :thumb2

Well airbag removal was dead easy, I should have had a look before posting the question. Two torque style bolts on the side of the wheel and a plug and that was it! As usual the bolt on Momo steering wheel hub needs a little mod to get the indicator canceler to work and I need to have a separate horn button.
