This is like one of those IQ tests and I'm not scoring very well tonight :lol
Yes I get your drift Rick and will go and refresh my little noggin with some drag link play time tomorrow :thumbs

the point I am making whatever the description, is that while we were playing with various configurations on Alex truck, is that when assembling the drag ling numerous times I noted that I could only do it in roughly the straight ahead position if on any lock with one end connected there was no way I could twist the drag link to get it onto the idler arm at all, so knew something was wrong, Rick

no it is not a test Pete and you do very well, just need to make sure Alex is safe, be interested to see what you find, wish I still had a set up here to check it out but but sadly not:( , Rick

I'm thinking of doing the same thing with a old steering box from a left hand drive ... anyone have a spare box ? What does it weigh, as I would need to have it shipped to Cape Town, South Africa ?

Shot alot ...

Paulo

Paulo,
LHD steering boxes readily available here in Europe (continent), check French / German eBay for example. But postage will be prohibitively expensive I'm afraid.

Can I get some updates on this guys?

What was done to overcome the issue with the tie rods?

I need to get this done because I'm killing idler arms like eggs :doh

Alex's front was wound up too much :doh Now at a more sensible htin relation to the rear and all's well.
As are all the other ones I know about .:D

Is it possible to get 2 modified steering box arms and modded drag link please I wanna keep tie rod ends as they are. I just want the drag link to stop twisting

I'd also like 2 modified steering box arms too please, have a brand new drag link or centre steering bar as I call it (probably incorrectly)

Does the drag link need some machining then?

Yes the drag link needs machining to take a new bush. Hence the part ex on these deals. I have two drag links here ready to go but I think I've only got 2 arms ? You guys best PM me so I can gather what bits you have I have etc and give you a price accordingly.
Pretty sure Rick has another steering box if you want that off him. You can cut it up ready then, or pay me to do it, your choice :sly
