Good morning. im new to this site and was wondering if anyone would be able to help me.

Im having issues with my track rod end bolt hitting my chassis and me not being able to turn the steering wheel. it only seems to do it when im out off roading on sites (not when im driving to and from sites)

Is this a common problem?

Any help advice would be greatly apreciated.

thanks

Dan

Id not thought of that. is it a common problen do you know?

i have not heard of this problem, not in terms of it being common.

the main lads who use theirs off road will be along shortly, but id be suspicious of shocks and torsion bars at the front.

yea i'd forgot about torsions, have you got a pic of side of truck so can see difference between front end and back end?

ive replaced the steering idler, relay bar and track rods/tie rods on both sides and still get the problem.
I had a good look at it earlier and whats happening is when i put lock on to one side the relay bar goes across as it should but the mount where the track rod attaches moves up towards the chassis and gets caught.

I was thinking of dropping makeitfit a message and seeing if his wellhard steering kit would solve the problem?

Thanks for the help so far.

Dan

That's unusual after changing all your balls  I presume you've fitted the correct idler ? There's only about 10mm spare anyway as far as I can remember, so not much room for error.
Pics please :thumbs

Yeah its the correct idler. unless ive bent it while out playing? It only seems to happen while out out playing and not when im driving normally. there does look like there is minimal gap when steering normally. Im struggling to get some pics unless i try and stick it on my wall on lock and see if it does it as i wont be at another pay and play until end of october.
