Got home from work tonight to find a parcel from Darwin A shiney new Pro Comp steering damper kit :thumbs
Oiked it out the box and ooph it's a brute
So I set about fitting it and guess what?...............It doesn't:doh
So a quick trip to the blacksmiths and get a piece of 75mm angle iron 6mm thick 100mm long, £1
Drilled a couple of holes in it to mount on the old ARB bracket. Then one big hole for the end of the damper.
Bolted that in place and checked the damper lines up and then fitted the little braket onto the drag link. It fits with a couple of U bolts:thumbs
Then stuck the damper in place with it's bushes
A quick tweek of the bkts. to get it all lined up, then turned steering back n fore to check all clear and job done
Took it out for a spin up the old track and broody hell it's chuffing ace, all steady and no more steering wheel fights
Cheers Darwin, best £25 spent for a while, and it only took an hour
