Steering box

Does anybody know how to adjust the steering box on a 1994 slx lwb? There's alot of play in the steering wheel. A mate of mine who's a mot inspector said there's a nut on the steering box that needs adjusting. Does anybody know where the box is. Probably somwere under the engine?

Yep it's right on top of the steering box mate :lol
It's a pain to get to on std truck, it's sort of directly under the battery tray. You can get it from the side near the rad but if you've still got all that plastic tosh in the way you'll not see it very well.:doh
Anyway, there's a nut with a little bolt up the middle of it. Undo the nut a bit then tighten the bolt a bit then lock the nut again. Check steering doesnt lock up and bingo

bit of a bodge, but i cut a slot out of battery tray with grinder, makes adjustment possible, without too much fuss.
cut is covered with tray liner anyway.
